Heon is an Intern at Navigator’s Toronto office who brings an eclectic set of experiences in public policy, issues management, media advisory and research on various political occurrences.

Prior to joining Navigator, Heon worked as an intern at the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition of Canada, supporting outreach projects to ethnic communities and media advisory on current events, while working as a Project Lead for the University of Toronto’s COVID-19 Student Engagement Award. Heon also worked as a Special Assistant to Raymond Cho, MPP for Scarborough North and formerly Scarborough Rouge-River, supporting the Member with legislative matters, constituency affairs and stakeholder relations.

Heon has various political campaign experiences dating back to the 2015 federal election, having most recently worked as an Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator for a local candidate in downtown Toronto in the 2019 federal election. Heon ran as a TDSB Trustee candidate himself in the 2018 City of Toronto’s General Election, placing 6th out of a sleight of 13 candidates.

Heon will be graduating from the University of Toronto with an Honours B. A. in Political Science with High Distinction in the summer of 2021. He currently serves as a Board Director for a local electoral district association in his fourth term.
