Prior to joining Navigator, Sophia was a staff reporter at The Globe and Mail, where she reported on crime, municipal politics, and the experiences of Canadians in underrepresented communities. She began her career as a reporter at the Kingston Whig-Standard, where she focused on housing and the impacts of affordability challenges.
Sophia served as Deputy Volunteer Coordinator for a federal leadership campaign and volunteered on two campaigns during the 2025 federal election.
She discovered her passion for storytelling at the Queen’s Journal, where she was awarded Student Journalist of the Year by the Canadian University Press in 2025 and recognized for news reporting in 2024.
Sophia holds a degree in psychology from Queen’s University and a certificate from the Smith School of Business.
