sspence@navltd.com LinkedInShakira is a Consultant in our Toronto Office. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Childhood and Social Institutions from Western University and a Master of Arts in Legal Studies from Carleton University.
Prior to joining Navigator, Shakira completed several research assistantships under professors during her time at Western and Carleton University ranging from developmental psychology, international law, to youth and digital technology. During her time at Carleton, she held an advisory role on the EDI/BIPOC committee for the Department of Law and Legal Studies as well as the Graduate Student’s Legal Association. She has also led training sessions for fellow teaching assistants pertaining to teaching sensitive topics to students.
Since joining Navigator, Shakira has enjoyed assisting clients with crisis response and issues communications. Shakira enjoys the combination of informed and creative communication strategies and sees the immense value of research, where applicable, to best suit the needs of clients.
