Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke today in Ottawa on the SNC Lavalin controversy. Yesterday, we heard testimony from Gerald Butts, Trudeau’s former top adviser and Michael Wernick the Clerk of the Privy Council yesterday testify before the Commons Justice committee. Their testimony comes one week after Jody Wilson Raybould accused the Prime Minister’s office of inappropriately pressuring her on the SNC Lavalin file, and prominent cabinet Minister Jane Phillpot resigned from her post because of the way the government has handled the situation. In our studio listening live to the Prime Minister’s speech is Jaime Watt, the executive chairman of the public strategy and communications firm Navigator.
