Navigator is hiring a dynamic, motivated and detail-oriented consultant to join our high-stakes public affairs and communications team. The ideal candidate brings corporate or financial communications experience – in-house or agency – and a strong grasp of how reputation drives enterprise value, influences regulators and policy makers and shapes stakeholder behaviour.

What you will do:

  • Advise corporate clients across regulated and consumer sectors on reputation strategy, issues/crisis preparedness and response, and public affairs campaigns that support business goals.
  • Develop and deliver proposals, integrated strategies, and well-written communications products (e.g. briefing notes, Q&As, media lines, op-eds, executive remarks, stakeholder maps)
  • Lead day-to-day project management, including developing timelines, supporting budgets, and delivering flawless client services in a fast-moving environment.
  • Monitor and analyze issues, trends, policy developments and translate insights into actionable counsel for C-suite leaders.
  • Support media relations through narrative development, spokesperson training, and proactive and reactive media engagement.
  • Collaborate in teams to execute multi-channel public affairs campaigns, including coalition building, third-party engagement and capital markets communications when relevant.
  • Grow and foster client relationships, contributing to mandate planning and delivering measurable results.

What you bring:

  • Several years of relevant experience (typically 4-7+) in corporate or financial communications, public affairs, issues/crisis response – in an agency or in-house.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen through an ability to connect communications and public affairs to business strategy, risk, reputation and financial impact.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills with a portfolio that spans executive materials and media-ready content.
  • Excellent operational and organizational skills and able to deliver dependably under competing pressures.
  • Collaborative mindset and professional presence with comfort advising senior executives.

Nice to have:

  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Capital markets experience
  • Familiarity with regulated sectors such as health care, financial services, energy and transportation.
