lturnbull@navltd.comLaas Turnbull is Chief Commercial Officer in Navigator's Toronto office.
Laas is widely regarded as a builder, thought leader, and innovator in the media, content, and technology space. Most recently, he co-founded Darwin CX, an enterprise-level technology company that was acquired by a New York private equity group in 2020. He stayed on as CEO until the end of last year and helped grow Darwin into the second-biggest player in its space in North America.
Laas has held key senior positions at The Globe and Mail and ZoomerMedia, where he worked with Moses Znaimer to guide the company's pivot from a traditional ad-driven business model to one led by audience- and data-driven insights. At Torstar, he founded The Grid, the world's first true hybrid of a newspaper and a magazine—and the only publication ever to be named World's Best Designed Newspaper three years running by the Society for News Design.
